Repair Report: P/N 2-73902-5, REGULATOR - TENSION, CABLE QUADRANT, HORZ STABILIZER
COC received the unit in from an F-5 operator.
- Initial inspection found unit inoperable.
- Disassembly of unit commenced, and COC found severe corrosion in the main housing.
- Both bearings were heavily rusted and seized.
- The shaft assembly was lightly corroded.
- Further disassembly found the shaft assembly with dirt and old lubricant build up.
- After complete cleaning, visual and dimensional inspections were performed on the other components.
- COC refurbished these components following the original processes in the engineering data.

COC refurbished the all of components after inspection, bringing them back to ‘as-new’ condition
Return the unit to Service
COC received a total of 15 LE Flaps for evaluation, nine (9) are RH – 509 and six (6), LH. There is one flap, R-1042 that is -508, RH.
COC’s ‘Complete Support ‘ on this component saved the customer over 75% of the cost of a new unit
